Our new men’s Festival champion is Harris Pagett of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Harris made history by becoming not only the first athlete from the university to win the overall Festival title, but also the first to win an individual race, taking victory on Peel Hill. He also finished second in the 10km race and third in the 5km.
Harris made an impressive Festival debut last year as an under-20, finishing seventh overall as an unattached runner. His progress since then has been impressive and he now follows in the footsteps of many outstanding athletes in claiming the men’s Festival title.
Among Harris’s recent achievements are victory in the Scottish Junior Hill Running League in 2023, along with representing Scotland at junior and under-23 level in both hill running and cross country. He has also been selected for Great Britain trial races in mountain running. Most recently he finished seventh overall and first under-23 at the Home Nations Cross Country in London.
Harris is the latest in a long line of Scottish student athletes to enjoy success at the Isle of Man Easter Festival, and we wish him every success in his future running career. Congratulations Harris!
