10k Road Race

Good Friday sees the start of the festival with a 10k road race starting at 6.45pm. Men and women run together although there are, of course, separate prizes for the men and women.

There are also team prizes to be won and awards for the leading veterans and juniors. The race starts by the harbour in Port Erin and heads up to the Promenade and then out of town before following the picturesque coastal footpath to Port St. Mary harbour and returning to Port Erin finishing near to The Bay Pub by the beach. After the race, there is usually live music and food available from multiple locations.

Please note, due to the fading light, we enforce a cut-off time at 5km of 38 minutes. Any runner who has not reached 5km at this point may be asked to withdraw from the race. This cut-off time is enforced to ensure runner and event marshal safety.

Coach travel to and from Douglas (the island’s capital) is provided free of charge as part of our full festival entry package, taking the stress out of arranging travel for your group. If you are arranging a group trip, get in touch with the team via email for further details – easterfestival@manx.net
